Critique Please - Seagull in the Sun

I was delighted to see this seagull perched on the railing since I was working on bokeh today.
Unfortunately, he took off before I could get any closer than this with the 50 mm lens I am using for Richard Sayer's @vignouse NF-SOOC-2017 challenge.

And, this is the best details I could get shooting into the sun like I was. (Please note the info under EXIF - my camera settings were pushed as high as I could go without decreasing the aperture opening which I wanted to keep large to get the bokeh.
I uploaded photo last night, but processed it this morning.
Any suggestions?

Love the softness of the background and the sharpness of the bird and rail, the light on the water takes the eye beyond the seagull to the background softness. Lovely shot

I was hoping he would be tamer and allow me to get closer but - that's life!

Thanks, Anne. This was a tough shot and I am relatively pleased with how well it turned out. First time shooting into the sun like that.
