I heard that an image of steam locomotive 'Mallard' was to be projected onto Clifford's Tower, so it seemed like a good idea to go and get a shot. Sadly, the projection was poor and out of focus, so not really worth sharing.
However, this was a good chance to take a few more night shots around York, so here is one of the iconic views of York Minster's west end. Night photography here is rather more difficult than it used to be, due to the presence of very bright street lighting. Some formerly good viewpoints are now not possible. Still, I quite liked this viewpoint - I hope that you do too!

Thank you Bob - there is a similar move here to make street lights more efficient and downward pointing, but for some reason the lights here are much brighter than they used to be and are unfortunately positioned to get shots of the minster from certain angles.
