Green Archway, Shipton Road, York

This oasis of peace and quiet is just a step away from the A59 the busy road between York and Harrogate. We often walk along this short path to avoid the hustle and bustle of the traffic.

The light was lovely and I had to see if I could capture the effect before I went home. Shelter and arches are provided by Oak trees and Hawthorn. Prolific areas of stinging nettles adorn the sides of the path.

@bkbinthecity The picture is a bit deceiving as the path was originally a short cut between two hospital sites, but it does lead to a lovely riverside walk. Katharine
