Today was beautiful and sunny, so I decided to walk beside the River Ouse north of York. The route is actually the start of a long distance footpath along the Rivers Ouse and Ure into the Dales (The Yoredale Way), but today I only had a relaxing walk as far as the pretty village of Overton.
There are several impressive oak trees along here, forming lovely arches over the path, and they still have quite a lot of leaves, although that will probably change tomorrow as gale force winds are forecast. But for now, it still looks like autumn!
Beautiful captured late autumn tones. You've featured part of this trail before, sound like a delightful facility. Can't imagine just walking to the next village, my nearest is almost 20 Km away 8-)
Thank you Tony, and you're right, I have featured parts of this route before early this year in my solo project. I've added links to the earlier shots in my notes. And this walk to the next village is about 4-5lm each way, so not too taxing!
Thank you Ferry - I was surprised how many leaves are still on the trees by this path, but I would imagine that the gales forecast for tomorrow will clear a lot of them from the trees!
Thank you Bruni, it is a lovely walk. It will have changed now though after the storms on Thursday - many of those leaves will have gone. I need to try and have another look along this path in the next few days to see what the storm did.
Thank you Molly, it's a beautiful stretch of the riverside trail following the curve in the river. Funnily enough on of my first ever digital photos was taken only yards from here, following the curve of the river to a boat moored beside it.
Thank you Padlock - it's a lovely place to walk and unwind!.

Thank you Bob - it's somewhere where I've walked many times, but for some reason it's quite a while since my last walk there.
