"Essentials" Packing by fishers

"Essentials" Packing

Lucy was packing her case to return to Paris and I was amused to see her making sure the "essentials" were packed early. It made me wonder what I would regard as essentials? I think I might pack tea but I'm not sure what else I would find it difficult to live without. What would your essentials be?

Katharine
haha, this tells us quite a lot about Lucy...haha, but from what I know of the British, I think quite a few peoples bags might look like this!

I think my essentials would include a fair amount of chocolate... and the Porridge I have for breakfast, I think it's only found in South Africa, so if I had to move... I'd drag many boxes of it with me!!! :)

I am afraid it may take more than one suitcase.

Chocolate for me too, and tea bags. And I do love british cheese with scottish oatcakes!

Nice shot. I wouldn't have room for any of this, my bag would be packed with chocolate!

Where's the Marmite then???
January 8th, 2014
Great shot and good question - chocolate would quickly come to mind, followed by Vegemite.

With only my credit card will do for me.

That is a very good question

I don't drink tea so it would be ground coffee beans for me

Looks way too healthy. Nice shot and good question. My essentials are my credit card, passport and laptop. Oh, almost forgot - the camera !!

My camera and my favorite coffee...nice idea Katharine!

great idea indeed and good question! My camera would probably top the list for me - after that, I don't know.

No baked beans? I used to work in Kazakhstan years ago - cheddar and baked beans were the things I took!
January 9th, 2014
Mine would be filled with tea :)

@monkeykid Thanks. The porridge sounds interesting! Chocolate is readily available in Paris so Lucy didn't need to pack it! Katharine

@padlock That is a bit of a problem, how to fit essentials, clothes and be able to lift the case. Lucy was on the eurostar so at least didn't have a weight limit! Katharine

@tiller_girl I think I would pack cheese too, although we both like French cheese there is something about a good cheddar. Katharine

@lyndag I think Lucy was going for the stuff she couldn't easily get in Paris (or afford to buy there). I'm assured chocolate is available and affordable there. Good job cos I'm visiting in february.Katharine

@dolphin Molly, she doesn't like it and no one else asked her to bring some back! Katharine
January 10th, 2014
@dide Well, Lucy doesn't like vegemite but assured me she can get chocolate there. Katharine
January 10th, 2014
@pyrrhula She has one of those too! She was saving money and buying the "essentials" in bulk - there were two lots of everything in that case! katharine

@bkbinthecity Chocolate seems to be a winning answer. Katharine
January 10th, 2014
@purplehaze12 Fortunately she can get the coffee in Paris but there is a lack of "ordinary tea". katharine

@tonydebont Hadn@t thought of it being healthy. Cameras went in the hand luggage. katharine
January 10th, 2014
@hshdebbie Thank you. Cameras went in the rucksack so she could use it on the journey! Katharine

@angelat Thanks. Must try Louise's car next time, usually full of toys! Katharine

@gillg Lucy is not a baked bean fan, but we did have them several times over the holidays. She will probably expect me to take them when I visit next month. katharine
January 10th, 2014
@malc I suspect mine will be when I visit next month along with more cheddar and Bisto. Katharine

Chocolate, vegemite and Tim Tams.
January 12th, 2014
@kjarn I think chocolate got a vote from many people. What are Tim Tams, I've not heard of these before? Katharine
January 14th, 2014
