London has several very impressive large railway stations. Kings Cross has recently had a massive makeover, with the massive roof re-glazed and restored, a new travel centre and other facilities created on the west side of the train shed, and the 1970s travel centre on the south side cleared and a new public square created.
This is a shot of the south side taken at night during my return to York after visiting Louise. This face of the station has for many years had a very cluttered appearance, and the 1970's vintage travel centre was quite a bland structure. The clutter has all been removed and the beauty and simplicity of the original station building exposed, and the new square allows it to be seen at it's best.
Good idea to take a shot of this, especially at night. I've taken several of the new posh inside, but this is much better, really allowing the grandeur of the original facade to be beautifully portrayed.
A great view and a beautiful capture of the entrance facade of Kings Cross railway station. Have been there many times in the +/-1965 but can`t recognize it . Beautiful night pic.
Thank you Bob. A lot of money is being spent on major railway stations here, often with extra platforms being created to cope with growing demand for rail travel.
Thank you Graham, and thank you for the fav!
