I've just spent a few days in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, with my mum after her latest hospital visit. On Wednesday afternoon I had a trip to see the remains of Roche Abbey.
The abbey ruins are situated in a quiet valley some 8 miles east of Rotherham town centre, and getting there without a car involves a bus ride to Maltby (a coal mining settlement), and a walk of around 1.5 miles along the valley of Maltby Dike. I took the path along the upper part of the valley on the outwards walk, and on the lower path beside the Dike on the return journey.
Reflections in the dike, and gentle ripples, with overhanging trees gave several peaceful scenes along the way back to the bus, and here is one of those views.
Thanks for the nice info with/on this pic.
Thank you Graham, and thank you for the fav!
