Walking along Goodramgate in York I noticed a sign for a shop down one of the alleyways usually gated off, so I took a walk to the shop.
There I found this side of Wealden Hall one of the many lovely old timber framed buildings. I often wondered if it is only the frontage that has been preserved, but in this case the whole building is preserved.
Appropriate as the modern green door is the entrance to York Conservation Trust.
In case you visit York, the shop at the end of the alleyway is beside the handbag shop and the shop at the end sells records and music.
