It’s summer, so time for the regular Scarborough Spa Express steam railway services to Scarborough. The service runs from Carnforth (north Lancashire) to York pulled by vintage diesel locomotives. The train stops in sidings just south of York railway station, where the diesels are replaced by a steam locomotive for the last part of the journey
So here we are, an LMS ‘Jubilee’ locomotive, 45699 ‘Galatea’, entering platform 5 at York railway station, where it was met by quite a crowd of photographers.
Thank you Lizzy, nice to hear from you. We restarted out project in March, and we are enjoying being part of this community again. I hope things are OK with you.
Thank you all for your comments and favs, which put this shot on the Popular Page.
It's quite likely this locomotive will appear again on our 365 project in the near future since it will be taking regular trips to Scarborough.
