Barley Hall is a recreation of a medieval town house situated just off Stonegate in York, and it has a number of interesting exhibits. Here we see a display of shoemaking that I hadn't seen on previous visits.
This was the third location that I visited on the second day of the York Residents Festival.
Lovely shot. Most of the known trades have been lost forever. Thank God we have museums where we can see these. I could spend days in a place like this.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated and valued!
It is nice to see traditional crafts when possible, and all the skill involved.

Thank you Gloria - it was great to become a tourist in my own city for a couple of days!
