Clifton Hospital Chapel - March 2006

Another glimpse into the archive, and a shot taken close to home, on the site of the former Clifton Hospital in York in March 2006, at the dawn of my digital photography adventure.

Katharine posted a recent shot a few days ago of the spire of this former church, so I found this old shot of the building as it was in 2006. Since this was taken the trees have grown much bigger and other vegetation has grown around it, so it is difficult now to get a clear shot of the building.

Katharine's shot and summary of the history of the building can be found here - http://365project.org/fishers/365/2021-01-05

As we've discussed, so many of these places no longer in use for their original purpose, it seems a shame. Nice building.

So different from Katerine's shot from this angle. Looks beautiful and very imposing and the colour tones are so lovely.

A lovely building, it’s such a shame they are allowed to fall into disuse, nice textures and tones

@peadar @pdulis @ninaganci @seattlite @pyrrhula @kjarn @sangwann @craftymeg

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.

It must have been an attractive building as a church, but at least the structure has survived as an orthopedic unit.
