Katharine and I had a walk a couple of days ago. Our route took us along along Shipton Road. To the west of the road there is a large area of open land that once formed the grounds of Clifton Hospital. Along the edge there used to be a driveway, linking the hospital to another unit further along the road, and which has largely become overgrown with vegetation of various sorts. However, there is a narrow path along it, and it is preferable to walk there rather than beside a busy road.
There are a variety of trees and bushes along the route, but my eye was caught by this cluster of leaves on a beech tree. I don't know what variety of beech it is, but in summer it has rich green leaves. Here it is in transition towards it's autumn colours of rich brown, and is highlighted by mid afternoon sunlight.
Autumn sure is pretty
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
Autumn is such a special time, with its marvelous range of colours and tones. I always enjoy trying to capture something of its beauty.
