Who could resist taking a shot of this rather cute creature? Sat on a wall outside a bungalow near the southern end of Sowerby village, near Thirsk. The head on a spring was gently moving in the wind.
Sowerby is a very attractive village to the south of Thirsk. The built up area is now continuous, but Sowerby retains it's old world rural feel. We often have a walk to Sowerby when we visit Thirsk. There is a lovely circular walk which follows the bank of Cod Beck from Thirsk and there are several places to turn west into Sowerby village, depending on how far we want our walk to be. From Sowerby there is a path behind the gardens of houses which returns us close to the Market Place in Thirsk.
Yesterday we did the longest version of this walk which takes us past the southern end of Sowerby, near to an old packhorse bridge and then we walked into the village from the south. This is the only version of the walk which takes us past this little sculpture, so it was well worth taking the longer route.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and fav, they are very much appreciated.
I'm glad that you find him cute - I thought he was great fun! It's quite amazing what you find when out for a walk. Our next post is another street find!
