Here we see it in daylight, with quit a few people in and around it. It seems to be fulfilling the purpose outlined on the information board beside it.
"Celebrating the joy of coming together after recent periods of social isolation. ‘Reunion’ by Kumquat Lab is a unique light installation creating a series of technicolour light arches forming a circular space where you are invited to meet and join with other spectators.
Visitors are encouraged to interact with the space and bring the installation to life, as they share the light at the end of the tunnel."
This light art has since been removed, and another piece of light art projecting images onto York Minster has replaced it. Hopefully I will be able to share photos of that quite soon.
I like art that you can interact with. I came across that at a gallery in the North East, with sunlight streaming through roof windows and coloured panels and mirrors. Fascinating!
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
This artwork has now been removed and another piece of light-art installed projection images onto the outside of the south transept of York Minster.
