Still exploring the gardens at Newby Hall, and I had been looking forward to seeing the rose garden. However, there were relatively few fully open roses, while lots were decaying and there were quite a few buds.
I did find this lovely deeply coloured flower almost fully open, so I thought I would share it with you.

Roses are one of my favourite flowers. My dad used to grow quite a few varieties, and a rose garden always reminds me of him. We are looking forward to seeing what the gardens at Newby Hall look like when we go again in the spring or early summer.
