Originally named Bolton Park, it was opened in 1866 by The Earl of Bradford, and given its current name in 1897 in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The River Croal flows through the south of the Park.
This shot was taken using a nine-stop ND filter with 100 seconds exposure, the scene actually has about 20 ducks on it, they just don't show up on the image. For those that aren't familiar with a ND (neutral density) filter, it basically allows the camera-shutter to remain opened for longer periods of time (seconds or even minutes) without over exposing the image. They are also useful for slowing down moving water, which produces that dreamy blur you see on some images, and not capturing moving objects (if the shutter is open long enough) as is with this shot.
