Point Of Ayr. by gamelee

Point Of Ayr.

At the northernmost point of mainland Wales, the remains of a Type 25 World War 2 Pillbox. Originally, it would have been located along the edge of dunes but coastal erosion has now moved them back by about 150m, leaving the pillbox exposed to the high tide.
Great shot of that ridgey sand...I can remember how hard that is to walk on in bare feet! They are a sober reminder of war time!

I wonder what the pilbox was made of. It must have been really hard stone to stand up to waves for 75 years! Good to get the lighthouse in as well!
