Pollen Overload by gardencat

Pollen Overload

Trying to get some detail on this big pollen loaded bee. It almost looks as if the wing is held on by a copper rivet. Not sure what kind of anatomical structure that is.
If I crop in even closer, the pollen grains start to lose their round shape and display little spiky points all over their surface, which might explain why they are so good at clinging to the passing bees and insects.
The little guy must be in pollen heaven. Fav.
