Certainly describes my state of mind these days but, in this case, I'm referring to those old paperbacks that had orange dyed page edges. Don't know when they stopped doing that , why they stopped doing it, or even why they did it in the first place. It must have been a long time ago though, because after looking through two boxes of old books this is the only one I could find with those coloured edges. Seems like just yesterday...I feel old. (Orange photo on St. Patrick's Day! My mother must be rolling in her grave!)
According to a quick google search, the various publishing companies had 'their' color to distinguish from competitors. I hope some level of sanity starts to settle soon, we could use some for sure.
@joysabin Thanks for the research. Now that you mention it, I think I vaguely remember some paperbacks that had green edges too but most I saw were orange and most were cheap murder mystery type books.The one in this picture was published by Avon.
