This is an area where they pile up all the snow they scrape off the nearby parking lots. The more the snow melts, the more all the dirt and grit, that was hidden in with all the fluffy white stuff is left behind and collects on the surface. This was taken about 10 days ago and, by now, the piles are smaller but even dirtier.
That’s interesting, Joanne! When the snow has finally all melted, do they then come round and clean up the leftover debris? I have never so much as touched snow, let alone seen it, so snow-related information along with people’s snow lifestyle I find most intriguing.
A great capture of gloom - from the foggy view of the buildings in the distance , the dirty snow, the abandoned shopping trolly and the cracked-up tarmac surface . A great pov and so well captured in monochrome (to add to the gloom!! )
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks, Jackie. I knew that was there somewhere and had added a previous cart photo but could never find it again till you posted the link.
@cocokinetic You know, I’m not really sure. When all the snow melts there would just be a lot of grit and mud and whatever else happened to get swept up into the pile, sitting in a parking lot. It must get cleaned up somehow but I’m not sure exactly when or how they go about doing it. I’ll try to be more observant this spring.
