Montacute House by gardenfolk

Montacute House

If you don't recount your family history
it will be lost. Honor your own stories and
tell them too. The tales may not seem very
important, but they are what binds families
and makes each of us who we are.
...Madeleine L'Engle

Montacute House is a late Elizabethan mansion (1598) with garden in Montacute, South Somerset.
The 1995 film version of Jane Austen's novel Sense & Sensibility was filmed there as well as the film The Libertine in 2004. It is maintained by the National Trust. Montacute House was built by one of my ancestors, according to my family history.

I added Antique Oil Painting which seemed to suit it nicely. The other version was posted on May 17.

How cool. Stories are so important. My sister often wonders how I know the family stories...because I asked.

@mbrutus Thanks! It is located in Somerset, England. 1964 was the last time a family member visited but it's on my bucket list to see in person!
