The trees
are about to show us
how lovely it is
to let the dead things go.

Though most of a redwood tree stays green year round, they will seasonally shed some of their needles in autumn. They only drop that which is no longer needed. And only enough to stick to Sophie's hair so she drags the needles in every time she goes outside. They get tangled and she hates having the hair on her legs pulled. Everything sticks to her...leaves, redwood needles, twigs, etc. No fun for Sophie or us. We have four large redwoods along one of our backyard fences. Tis the season.
But fabulous colours :)
