I figure if I'm gonna be
a mess
I might as well make it
a hot mess.

It was a Kentucky Derby to remember. Unfortunately it was for the controversy.
Yesterday, I was so looking forward to watching the Kentucky Derby after being able to visit Churchill Downs in April. We took a tour of the grounds, was told the history, walked through the museum and watched a movie. I loved being there.
Though it was raining again, this year, with a muddy track for the running of the roses, no horses were injured. Maximum Security, who led wire to wire and crossed the finish line first was disqualified after 20 minutes of reviewing the race by the stewards. This was the first time the best horse and winner was disqualified in this iconic race. A bittersweet ending for the 145th Kentucky Derby.
