August 8 is World Cat Day!
Well, I do think the world of my kitty Katniss. She is a keeper and I am so glad she chose me when she was a pregnant stray.
World Cat Day, which is also referred to as International Cat Day is a day to raise awareness for our feline friends and learn about ways to help and protect them.
They had a Kitty Palooza in Sacramento last weekend where adoption cost $15 per cat or kitty and 2 for $20. Plus $200 of free services and supplies including free spay, shots, food, vet visit, etc. I hope a lot were adopted since 350 cats/kittens were available at the shelter. I spread the word to a few friends and family and don't want to think about the ones left behind.
I can't believe I almost took Katniss to a local pet store to be put up for adoption...but just couldn't do it. Then a couple called me, decided to take her home. I knew it was a mistake as soon as they drove away, I cried and was in a panic for the next 2 weeks. She trusted me and this couple was not right for various reasons. I asked for her back when they called her "just a cat" and thankfully she was returned! We love her and so does sweet Sophie (my dog). Best on Black.
