Optical Phenomenon

Anyone can catch a rainbow outside. How often do you catch one inside? This was on my kitchen ceiling tonight.
Lovely shot Katie, love the colours.

Your kitchen ceiling has an interesting texture. Nice colors, makes me miss the front door of the house in which I was reared. The leaded glass sometimes caused the whole entry to be bathed in rainbows.

Wow, that is an unusual place to find such a beautiful capture, Katy.

@m9f9l It kind of looks like a brain here doesn't it? I had to go look at it again because it doesn't look like this at all. It really looks like meringue peaks. I don't understand how this happened.

Your house sounds as if it were so beautiful!

Rainbows are a delight no matter where you find them!

Well that has to bring you some luck

Pretty neat looking effect! DId you have mist or dew on the kitchen window for the light to refract? In any case, not many people have them inside ;-)

I also thought "brain" - great light reflection/refraction capture, Katy!

@vskolnik That was my thinking, Vee.

@digitalrn How funny that you say that because this was taken with my old camera when I thought my good one was broken and the very next day my good one started working again!

@mikegifford Thanks, Mike! I tried to figure out where it came from and couldn't . Definitely from light coming in a window but refracted from what I don't know! No mist or dew.

@deburahiru Thanks, Deb. it is stamped like the top of a meringue pie even though it is hard to tell from this photo.

@onie_m thanks, Onie. I had nothing to do with that! ;~}

Freaky cool! At the lake house, I have this THICK glass photo frame...it is empty now, but you just slide one into the glass. It has beveled edgeds...when the morning sun slants in, it puts a full out rainbow on my counter top. But they are granite, so the pic is never too great.

@espyetta Thanks, My friend! I'll bet that is beautiful too! Sometimes things are meant to be just appreciated and not photographed!
