Renaissance Girl With Cell

I feel sometimes some people think they need this device in order to breathe!

this looks like a painting. the processing is OVER THE TOP. I love it. And the light. so so well done. FAV. YES it does look like Renaissance. This is my favorite piece for you. Should put it on canvas....really. this is GREAT Katy.

It's amazing how captivated we can be with these intelligent devices. They take over in no time, and it shouldn't be.

It is like people used to always have to have a cigarette in their hand! Then.... it became a water bottle and finally now, a phone that they simply have to check every few minutes! Lovely deep colours here!

@anazad511 Thanks, Ana! very little porcessing here. See the details below!

@jpvona Really very glad you like it so much! thanks! I am glad you saw what I did in this one! There is really very little processing to it! I increased the saturation and contrast a bit and painted out s few blemishes. When I saw this it lookesd like an old masters art piece to me too. The effect came from the fact thet she was inside a window that reflected and gave it that painted effect. Thanks for that FAV!

April 29th, 2014
wait, you don't need it to breathe? I thought we did. hahahahhahahha This is strangely interesting! Why is she holding it up like this? Is she talking? And why did you call it "renaissance?" I am curious.
April 29th, 2014
Nicely captured Katy! I know what you mean...not sure why, but you do feel a bit naked if you leave the house without your smartphone....hmmm
April 29th, 2014
This is a very awesome capture Katy! Fab processing! Where was she that she appeared naked and was inside a window?
April 29th, 2014
Beautiful composition and processing! Without the cell, would be 19 century!!
April 29th, 2014
Great composition 📷
April 29th, 2014
@espyetta DON'T need it to breathe!! In this day I know that is almost sacrilegious to say but it is true. Glad you like it. The light and colors made me think of renassaince art. I think she was talking to someone and so paused in her texting to someone.
April 29th, 2014
@mikegifford Thanks Mike! Just a new necessity of modern life I suppose.
April 29th, 2014
@jankoos I am so glad you like it, Jan. thanks. It was an indoor pool and l was outside. She had a strapless suit on.
April 29th, 2014
@kevin365 Now THAT made me feel so good! Basically this is how it looked without the processing. I only increased the contrast and the saturation a bit and cloned out some small distracting white spots and part of a chair. Thanks a bunch for that FAV!
April 29th, 2014
@andreajoy So very nice of you Andrea. Thanks!
April 29th, 2014
No honestly I think you expect too much of a chair;0)
In all seriousness this is a beautiful shot Katy
April 29th, 2014
I agree with you - wherever you look these days, there's a fancy phone at hand! Great shot, Katy. I like the processing (or not!).
April 29th, 2014
@claireuk Lol!! Very funny! (;

Thanks so much for those kind words, Claire.
April 30th, 2014
@kwiksilver Thanks, Gillian. The basic lack of processing is what appealed to me about this image.
April 30th, 2014
Wonderful juxtaposition! And processing and composition... :)
April 30th, 2014
Now I that I ahave read the comments I see that the "processing" was done by a window, which makes it even more awesome! :)
April 30th, 2014
@marilyn Thanks for all those nice things! i am happy you like it!
April 30th, 2014
@marilyn Thanks for coming back to say that! I wasn't going to use it at all but had to when I saw that HA.
