@bob65 I did so (by hand, in very low light). In post-production, I also softened the sculpture. I wanted to focus on the movement of the wings and the focus on the birds. The sharp carving would probably steal attention. I didn't make this blur on purpose, but I like it so much.
I see what Bob @bob65 is saying, but I also agree with you, in that should the statue have been sharp it may have stolen the emphasis from the birds. I viewed you image before reading Bobs comment, and was instantly drawn to the birds. Nice capture.
Well done on the processing! I don't think every picture has to be tack sharp. For this picture your processing matched the story perfectly. Very dreamy.
