It is beautiful as artwork and a good document of your history. Is it a period of time that is looked upon with favor?

@olivetreeann Some hate him, others disrespect. It is not liked because it is associated with the enslavement of the country by the Soviet Union. It was made up of great artists but they were also enslaved by the system and had to design according to the guidelines of the Communist Party.

@haskar That's sort of what I suspected. We have some areas here where leaders are represented in artwork who over time have lost favor for their stance on certain issues like slavery. I do not endorse slavery but it saddens me that the artwork is being removed and/or destroyed. I think they should be left as a reminder that we have moved on from that improper and horrible treatment of men, woman and children- even to inspire us to do better- or they should at least be placed in a museum. But in those areas it is what we call a "hot topic". Most people are very divided in their opinions about that artwork.
