The first thing that strikes me about this shot is you point go view, and then, is it the result of some vandalism. Also the cross is rusty yet the figure appears still painted. All left open to the imagination, Good shot.
@gamelee Fascinating comments Lee - thanks for your interest. The cross is actually on top of a very old tomb, I got right down low to take the picture from the side, as I thought it would be a bit different from the 'usual' POV. No vandalism, fortunately.
Great perspective and focus. What an intersting shot. Cemetary wanderings lend a lot to imagination and opportunity for good photos. Bet there were some really old ones there.
@carolyns Oh my, Carolyn, you're right, there are some very old and very famous graves there - Felix Faure, Georges Rodenbach, Molière, Pissarro, Jean Moulin, René Lalique, Jean de la Fontaine, Georges Haussman, Eugène Delacroix, Jacques-Louis David, Isadora Duncan, Maria Callas, Bizet, Sarah Bernhart, Gilbert Bécaud, Chopin, Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Abelard and Heloise, Victor Noir, Edith Piaf, ... to name but a few! I'm afraid I only had the energy to track down Jim Morrison and Edith Piaf - it's an immense graveyard and they're not all easy to find.
@jamibann Golly - that's some celebrity list, Issi. DD1 would love to see Molière's and DD2 would favour viewing Chopin's, I suspect! Love the photo - interesting angle.
