This is a 3-Day event in the Houston area, organised by River Oaks Garden Club. It offers the opportunity to visit Bayou Bend, Rienzi and 4 private residences - inside the homes and the gardens. I did this yesterday with a friend - always a very interesting insight into 'how the other half live'. Naturally, no photography was allowed inside the houses, but there were some beautiful plants in the gardens. Because of the unusually cold winter this year however, the azalea blooms were not quite there. Managed to catch a few nonetheless and the sun was shining, so I was happy!
@darylo@anazad511 Thanks ladies. This viewing of people's houses and gardens is a very strange, but pleasant, phenomenon for us Europeans! We don't do it where I come from! I've done this Trail before though, and I also did one at Christmas in the Heights area of Houston. I love it! I don't always like the houses, or the decorations inside, but boy is it fascinating! What I loved on this particular one, were the floral displays inside the houses, they were splendid! Some simple, some very grand, but all beautiful. No photos though! :-(
Oh how beautiful to see these azaleas. A friend has a bush of this variety that I just love. Will be another month before they open here. Like you pov for shooting this. Think that's so funny about you getting the possum, too, this week!
