Spotted this wee guy when out on my photo walk yesterday. I caught him sitting on a tree and he was obviously petrified of me and stayed completely still for ages, letting me take lots of shots of him and get very close!
@carolyns I just saw him and kept sneaking closer and closer - although I did have my zoom lens on. I got very close to him - this is not cropped at all. I think he was petrified to move!
You've managed to get such a close-up of him, it's easy to see that his little ear has had a rough moment in time. Love the well-defined fur of his tail, and that cute little button nose!
My thanks for your delightful comments on both the Walnut pic and the X-acto knife photo. I use them for finishing touches in matting and framing work.
Love the reflection in his eye. We have them sitting on our roof and they freeze when spotted and may wait there for several hours. At times people come and tell so there is a dead squirrel on our roof. They are cheeky little blighters. Fav
@lyndemc Thanks Lyn - you are so observant, I hadn't noticed that he had a bit out of his ear - and I must have looked at about 40 photos of him, trying to pick the nicest one!
@ziggy77@gamelee@lucypics@taffy@paulaw Thanks folks - yes, I love the way they think that if they don't move that they will not be noticed. Aye right! ;-)
What a wonderful closeup! Funny how squirrels in some places get so used to people and others are as one would expect them to be...somewhat cautious.. The one in my yard puts on antics for me...I love seeing all that people post!
@luvmynynix Thanks! I can't believe I never noticed his chewed up ear until Lyn mentioned it! @Weezilou Thank you - I think he was very cautious this wee guy as he just froze, hoping I would go away!! @cailts Aw, thanks for the fav Clare - most appreciated. :-)
@jamibann They can really tear it up! My husband watched two of them fighting the other day and one dropped approximately 30 feet out of a nest at the top of a tree!!
