Foire de Chatou by jamibann

Foire de Chatou

We spent the day yesterday with friends at the bi-annual Antiques Fair held in the nearby town of Chatou. It's a great event and we spent the day browsing through antique items and furniture, eating chocolate mousse and drinking pink champagne - only in France! This beautiful young lady was restoring a painting and I couldn't resist the shot.
For this gorgeous photo of a beautiful young artist, for letting my mind linger over the delight of chocolate mousse and pink champagne, and to harbor an envious heart at how wonderful an antique fair in France must be...thank you thank you thank you!

Issi, it is a wonderful photo! The red adds such deep richness to the overall image and looks luscious with the gold and blues in the photo.

No wonder we all think of Paris as a lovely place to be; stories like this one just perpetuate the idea! I too like the reds and the golds in your picture, and the highlighted edges as well.

Wonderful portrait. Did you acquire any antiques?

@tristansmum On this occasion, no, Stephanie, as we try not to gather 'stuff' as it makes life unmanageable when you move countries as often as we do. However, last time the 'Foire' came to town, in September, we did buy a dining table and chairs as that was a necessity! Very happy with them too. Perhaps not antiques, but French, and old. :-)
