One of the problems of having a cherry tree in the garden is getting to the cherries before the birds; the other problem is getting to the cherries. Period. They all seem to be in the most difficult of places to get to! This starling had no such problems. I'm making cherry crumble, cherry compote, cherry clafoutis, cherry muffins, because I am allergic to raw cherries. So annoying as I'd like nothing better than to eat them off the tree.
That's an unfortunate allergy to have. Still, the cherry desserts you are making sound wonderful. Great shot of the blackbird trying to decide which one to go for next.
@tristansmum@paulaw I spent my last few hours at home in Paris picking cherries and cooking them lightly before freezing. I've frozen bags of them, stones and all, which I will deal with as and when I use them. Just didn't have time to destone them as well. Still plenty left in the awkward places for the birds though! I couldn't bear to leave them all behind!
