On our last day in Chiang Mai we went to Wororot Market. After a browse through the flowers, vegetables, meats and other goods on offer, we stopped for coffee in a lovely little street cafe. As we sat sipping Espresso coffee, I was intrigued by the restaurant across the road from us - so different from where we were sitting!
It sounds like quite a contrast. And also quite a wonderful trip. I was able to visit there but only once and it's been over 15 years or more. It was such a special area -- I remember the elephants and markets so well! Lucky you to do this by bicycle and have that closer sense to the community/area.
