Los Chicos by jamibann

Los Chicos

These are my children! I got this necklace in 1998 when we lived in Argentina. There, it's traditional to have a necklace with a little 'effigy' of each of your children/grandchidren. I thought it was a lovely thing to do. As I only have two children, my necklace is very discreet, each 'child' being about 1cm long. Their names are engraved on the back. I wear it most of the time, but especially when the kids are undergoing difficult times or need a bit of luck - like the month of January which was major exam season for them both at University in England. Whilst living in Argentina, I also bought one of these necklaces for each of my best friends (from college) for their 40th birthdays. They too wear their 'kids' with great pride - and I know that Alison never takes hers off, even though her kids are 23 and 26 now!
Very sweet

That's very cute and a lovely reminder of when the children were young and your time in Argentina

They look so coy! I'm sure that your kids are not quite so coy?

Lovely talismans. Well photographed since these are not very big.

A beautiful necklace and a clever way to display it on the rock? for the photo. And nice back story on it!

@woodlandsphotog Yes, I couldn't get it to work indoors as the light kept reflecting off the little guys. I took it outside and placed it on an old granite bench we have in the garden. The natural light worked better. :-)

These are charming, and the rough texture of the stone background sets them off beautifully.
