We went to see Scotland play against Ireland at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh on Saturday. What a fantastic view we had from our seats. I had not been to Murrayfield since the stadium had been renovated, and I had no idea that this view existed! From left to right ... Donaldson's College, (not sure which church spires you can see), Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat on the right.
In addition to the view, Scotland won the match, so it was a really good day out!
This is amazing. I spent a few fabulous days at the Edinburgh Fringe festival years ago, and would love to go back. And while as I said in a previous comment, I know nothing about sports, I DID watch my first complete American football game last week, and as @darylo knows all too well, MY home city was the victor. I picked the right game to watch. 😎
@squamloon You did pick the right game to watch! I sympathise in that I still don't understand American football, but confess that I have never tried too hard. For rugby, I have made a big effort as my husband is very keen ... so I follow the old adage 'if you can't beat them, join them'. It's the only way. Some games are better than others though. This one was magical. It began with this fabulous view from our seats in the stadium, with the castle sitting in a surreal bubble of light, and it ended with a magnificent Scottish win against Ireland. I have never actually been to Edinburgh for the Fringe, although I have been for the Military Tattoo, around the same time of year. Another magical event!
