We arrived in Oslo late Friday night and got to our Air BnB just after midnight. Saturday morning was spent at IKEA buying bedding for Mhairi's new lodgings - she checks in on Tuesday. Saturday afternoon, it snowed! I was delighted, and we went for a walk in the gardens of the Royal Palace, which was quite magical. Today we're going to try and do some cross country skiing - if we can find a rental shop open on a Sunday.
Impressions of Oslo so far : the people are extremely helpful and friendly. They speak great English. Everything is very expensive!
Lovey image with the snow as the backdrop! How long will Mhairi be staying in Oslo? At least the people sound friendly and language won't be a problem!
Beautiful portrait of your daughter, Issi! Fabulous snowy setting! I always enjoy googling and learning more about all the places you visit . . . you mentioned in your narrative that everything is very expensive - I read online that in 2013 Oslo tied with the Australian city of Melbourne as the fourth most expensive city in the world (according to a Worldwide Cost of Living study). That fact caught my eye in the writeup because I've been watching old episodes of an Australian detective show set in Melbourne and I've been reading up on that city lately. :-)
