Yesterday, I organised and attended a Gluten Free cookery class and lunch to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart 'Room to Read'. My friend Lisa was the teacher. The menu was fabulous ... radish pesto, fresh mackerel rillettes with beetroot crisps, chicken with garlic velouté and spring vegetables, followed by the pièce de résistance, a delicious rhubarb, almond and polenta cake. Oh, and accompanied by a wee glass of rosé! We name these sessions 'Cooks for Books' because through the generosity of these wonderful cookery teachers, we can raise money to buy books for kids in need. A win win! :-)
