That's Mark Beaumont. He's just completed cycling the world in 78 days 'and change' as he puts it, breaking two world records. Over 18,000 miles. Cycling an average of 240 miles a day, over 16 hours, getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night. No rest days. Phenomenal. Anyway, he started in Paris back in July and arrived yesterday evening on Avenue Foch. I simply had to go and see him come in. It was surprisingly quiet, given the magnitude of his achievement. Congratulations Mr Beaumont. And for those wanting to know a little more about it, check out this link : http://www.artemisworldcycle.com
I'm speechless! An Immense Fave for this amazing individual who set his mind on a goal and accomplished it! I can think of no better title for his photo than what you gave it! This seems timer better spent than ways and tactics used by those incapable of seeing the marvelous possibilities in life!
Impressive beyond words. I just grabbed the hubby and insisted he look and read your post. He too is impressed. Neat that you went to witness the conclusion of this undertaking.
Thanks for the comment on the Moose picture. I have always loved the unique creatures; they not exactly beautiful and yet strangely majestic, just as you said. I'll share a family picture of them later in my project.
You were there!!! I was listening to an interview with him the day her returned and was blown away. To have been there in person...can't even imagine. So happy you were able to see and support this achievement. Especially as a cyclist yourself.
Good for him! I just spent a few days biking in Pittsburgh and there were no bike lanes or any room in general to bike actually bike. Thought I was for sure going to get run over.
