Peerie Lily sits patiently

Peerie Lily is more patient than me. I'm having a frustrating day. My printer/scanner has decided not to connect to my computer. Silver Efex has decided to crash every time I try to use it. Photoshop Elements crashes every time I try to use it. iPhoto no longer allows me to make photo books, but insists I use Mimeo which is driving me crazy as it keeps crashing and is frustratingly slow to use and not very user friendly. Oh, yes, and it's raining 24/7 at the moment and I have no inspiration for photography. Even my photographic plans for my exciting trip on Friday to see the new 5* hotel in Braemar have been thwarted as they say 'no photography'. Oh, woe is me! I hope tomorrow is a better day.
Well peerie Lily is patient and beautiful. I think your best course of action right now is a nice cup of tea with either a cream bun, a piece of cake or a good lortion of a bar of chocolate.....

Bep
So you had to deal with Murpy's Law, Issi. "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong".

Oh, I know what you mean about Mimeo! I’m only trying to do a simple calendar! I’m finding that the font scroll bar isn’t working so stick with 4 fonts. Very user unfriendly. You try to change something and it closes itself down and have to start from scratch. Bring back Apple iPhoto books I say. Nice bear by the way

She has a lovely smile ... great bear attitude. So sorry to hear of your troubles. Did you by chance upgrade your operating system? I've been avoiding it as I know I'll lose the Nik collection. I gave up Elements some time ago ... I have Affinity as it's Apple compatible but I don't use it. I know I'll need to upgrade soon, so I'm looking into purchasing Alien Skin since I know I won't be able to use Nik anymore. Did you ever follow April Milani? She uses Alien Skin. I do hope your problems get sorted out. Good luck!

So frustrating when technology lets you down. This image is very cute though.

Agggghhhhhhhh!!!! But Peerie Lily is a lesson in fortitude and patience :) She's gorgeous.

I was wondering if you had had to update something on the system. I hate that it forces you to do that. I miss my original iPhoto albums. I hate "Photos" and all its streaming and sharing thing.......just SO not me! But I am stuck with it since I had to replace my old Mac and the new one has it on.

Eat some chocolate, drink some whisky and sleep well. Tomorrow is another day and it may well be better.......

Pheeeew, that’s a lot to get frustrated with, I do hope tomorrow is a better day, lovely photo she does look very cuddly though

breathe and try holding your ears like Peerie Lily, I bet that is the trick!

I have a three point plan for you: take a bottle of single malt, an elegant glass and a candle to bed with you. Place the candle at the bottom of the bed and drink whisky until you see two candles. Either your troubles will have miraculously gone away... or you won't give a fig about them ;~}

When life gets so unBEARable, just do as Richard @vignouse suggests - just beware of putting the candle at the end of the bed - I'd hate it to set fire to the bed :)

For me, the worst thing about a bad day is having the integrity to admit that I was wrong. Even if it's not true, a short spell of accepting the responsibility will make me feel indecently virtuous, turn the page...Move On!

Such a sweet face Peerie Lily has....there must be a stir about that name somewhere!
Peerie Lily is probably thinking like me that your technical skills sound much greater than mine, very frustrating though! We shall have to google the 5* hotel in Braemar! I like @vignouse solution but I could use my newly decanted Damson gin!
November 28th, 2018
Oh so hope your day tomorrow is better!
November 28th, 2018
Sorry to hear about all your woes, you get days like that!! I also agree with @vignouse suggestion but perhaps minus the candle! I use Bonusprint which I believe is also compatible with Macs, its very user friendly and they even have regular (like about once a week) discount offers with anything between 40-60% off their products. Worthwhile if , like me, you get verbal and photographic diarrhoea! My books tend to be long!

By the way, Peerie Lily is gorgeous and, very patient!

Sorry to hear of all your problems. Computer problems are the worst. They frustrate me like nothing else can. Photo processing takes a lot of memory which slows everything down. Then there's the internet!

I love the look of this little bear. The photo tries to be sad, but he has a cute little smile that wins out.

Oh dear so frustrating do hope all gets resolved

a delightful smiling face on your little bear … Hope your computer problems go away. I'm wondering if my laptop has a virus, keeps locking up. I know I need to take it to an expert, but I keep putting it off.

@quietpurplehaze I went for the glass of red wine Hazel, and a nice chat with my son in Sheffield. Worked a treat. Today is a new day!

November 29th, 2018
@yorkshirekiwi Yes, I hear you. I have used the iPhoto set up for cards and books and calendars for years! I was devastated with the change to Mimeo and have only used it twice so far - not very successfully!
November 29th, 2018
@aecasey April, yes I did. Mojave. Like you, I usually avoid that unless I have to but I wanted to make a photo book and it seemed the only way that would work with Mimeo was to update my operating system. So I did. I have used both Elements and Efex since then, but perhaps only a couple of times. Yesterday nothing was working, including my printer, so I strongly suspect that the operating system is to blame. So frustrating. However, today is a new day, and I'll work on all the helpful comments from people to find a way round it all - including your kind suggestions. Thanks. :-)

@vignouse I went for the glass Richard, but filled it with red wine! Then I had a lovely chat with my son. Today is a new day!

@happypat Oh there is a story. Peerie Lily is a Shetland bear made from an old fair-isle jumper (by a Shetland Company called Burra Bears) which I bought for my mum (who was a Shetlander and lived at The Moors in Sullom Voe - her mum was called Lily). Peerie Lily has lived with me since my mum passed away. Before that, mum liked her bear so much that she bought me one - Mansie O' Easthoose who also has a place of pride in our house along with John O 'Lunnaness who was given to me by a friend. My daughter has Mhairita O' The Moors with her in Norway! You may well see Mansie and John soon on 365 if the weather doesn't improve. :-)

@judithdeacon Thanks Judith. I'll definitely check that out.
November 29th, 2018
@s4sayer The page is turned! :-)
November 29th, 2018
@jamibann Wow what amazing names.....names very suitable for bears from Shetland. Lovely story & such a comfort to have your mums bear with you! Thanks for telling me!
November 29th, 2018
@judithdeacon Thank you Judith for your recommendation of Bonusprint. I have just used it to do my Cambodia/Vietnam photobook. It was not entirely without problems on my Mac, but oh so much better than Mimeo. You have saved my sanity!
November 30th, 2018
@jamibann I don't know whether you have ordered yet but I have just received an email with the following promotion code to get 40% off XMASCOUNTDOWN
