Hubby took this photo of me underneath the 'shelter stone', which we discovered on Wednesday's walk - it's either for sheltering from a storm, or, perhaps for bird watching. Inside the little 'hut' is a plastic box where you can sign the 'guest' book, which of course, we did. Inside the plastic box are also 2 miniature bottles of whisky and a mars bar, which we did not take advantage of! However, in a storm in the Cairngorms in winter, you just might be tempted! And Woo Hoo, today is the shortest day ... here's to the gradual return of the longer days!

What fun it must have been as you discovered this! AND that someone thought to place a guest book there as well as sustenance! You look simply adorable, and in something of a proper Scottish setting! A lovely photo, I was watching a programme the other day about these sort of places, it was very interesting and I would imagine a godsend for anyone caught in bad weather.
That's just lovely. I can appreciate that in the wilds of winter the supplies would be good for weary travellers.
