Last year, when we attended the Ballater Highland Games, hubby announced that 'next year' he would run the hill race. A 4km, very steep, hill race. I said 'you're on your own - too steep for me!'. And so, of course, I find myself, with him, signed up for the hill race yesterday and feeling very nervous. We were issued numbers 29 and 30. Our friend said jokingly that we had to run within the time on our numbers. The funny thing? John finished in 28 and a half minutes and I finished in 30 minutes! Funny coincidence.
A very frustrating day, photographically speaking, as running meant no camera, but we had a lovely day and feel very good about having done the hill race. Another tick in the box!
You participated, that’s the whole spirit of the games! I think you did remarkably well & not much to chose between you at timings! Well done! Daughter & son in law are going to the Braemar Games but they won’t be running!!
