This cup has featured before on 365. My daughter gave it to me for Christmas and I've got into the habit now of taking a picture of it whenever we go on a hill walk and stop for coffee. It was a particularly thoughtful gift as we had booked a super hiking trip in Norway for September of last year, with our daughter, which we had to cancel. We were to be staying in DNT cabins along the way. So this is just a reminder of a holiday to be re-booked one day. Just not yet. Yesterday's walk was up Glen Ey, ticking off another Munro, Carn Bhac. That's 40 now. Just 200 or so to go!
Always got a challenge in front of you Issi! Love your tin mug & your idea of marking your walks. Tea is always so hot out of a mug like that! Looks a beautiful climb.
Beautiful shot, that brings back wonderful memories. There is nothing like hiking in Norway, especially in the north. It is absolutely worth waiting for.
That's a fun way to look forward to fulfilling that dream. And 200 more hills to go? Now that's quite a goal you've set for yourself, but I wouldn't be surprised if you accomplish it! Nice shot.
I love the photo and narrative, with the connection to your daughter. Often it can be the most humble possessions that can hold the most valuable memories?
@vignouse Thank you Richard. There were two beautiful larch trees at this old and very remote cottage ruins. I wondered if the cottage was built there in the shelter of the larch trees, or if the larch trees were planted to give the cottage shelter, or even visibility from a distance. I'll probably never know.
