Our Hogmanay was spent in a large Edinburgh restaurant. I've had better evenings - very noisy music and so we couldn't hear or speak to anyone properly. I was quite glad when 12 midnight finally arrived and we could leave soon afterwards! However, we had a lovely New Year's Day starting with a walk to Carnethy Hill, just outside Edinburgh, followed by steak pie at a friend's house and an early night. Heading off for a walk up Arthur's Seat now, and then the long drive home.
We don't go to restaurants on new years eve anymore, just private functions as we cannot stand all the noise! Lovely shot of your walk with some snow around.
I understand your memo, about a loud place to wait for midnight. But what a great hike to start the new year. Love this composition and how the trail to the peak is showing.
That looks rather bleak and grey, but I am sure it was invigorating and fresh to be out. I get what you are saying about noisy restaurants!! I would much rather go somewhere quiet where you can talk, or at least hear!
I am not good in any place where voices or music are loud, unfortunately, but this place looks like a great place to explore. Happy New Year dear Issi.
We never were the ones out for New Years Eve celebrations but in the past I'd sometimes stay up to see the ball drop in NYC. But if you've seen it drop once, you've seen it enough- at least that's how I look at it now! It looks like you started the year off in good fashion. Beautiful shot!
