We came down to Banchory on Sunday evening for the start of our annual fishing week with friends. I'll be dipping in and out, which suits me fine, as I find it all too intense, between the fishing and the socialising! It's only about a half hour's drive from our home, so it's easy to do that. There's not much water in the river, so the chances of catching a salmon are slim, but they boys are keen and fish at night for sea trout. One caught by hubby last night, so he is happy.
The fisherman in the image is not one of ours, but he's fishing the beat on the opposite bank. I liked the glimpse I got of him through the trees.
Great natural framing here Issi... Fav
This scene is as good as I have seen on TV.
So pleased hubby caught one & you can come & go as you please.
I don't fish & can't imagine a week of fishing with not much result.
Sounds ideal as after all your climbing I can imagine it will be good to have quiet time to catch up & mooch about on your own….. fishing too. This is such a lovely shot… the fisherman looks small & intent & such gorgeous countryside! No wonder it’s such a popular sport! A bit different from fishing off the pier at Blackpool!
A wonderful capture through the branches. The water gives a feeling of cooler temperature. I’m not into fishing and being so close to home I’d be going back and forth a lot 😉
Nice scene. Many fish some of the wilder waters around here for trout. It seems a peaceful sport, except for all that winding and throwing. Perhaps not so much of that when fishing for salmon.
the glimpse through the tress adds so much to the composition , enjoy your week , I've never ever fished , apart from a mackerel trip at the seaside when I was just a young boy
