Ol' Man River

These four, all members of the Flooding Issues Group in Ballater, having a little pause from clearing out flood debris from an inlet channel, in the hope of reducing the risk of future flooding for the village. But it's a massive task, and it's only a sticking plaster. The river has its own ideas, and there's currently no funding for anything more robust.

Flooding the bain of the times! I think rivers are a neglected area sometimes. I’m sure years ago there was much more river maintenance…..dredging etc. Nice study of this flooding group. Good people like that are essential.
