On a pretty much annual basis, my brother and his wife travel up to Scotland from Kent in their old landrover ... a mere 600+ miles! Then they camp! However, this year I was really happy to see that they've upgraded, and have a super Bell Tent with a double bed inside and even a stove! Luxury indeed. This year they are staying at Haughton Country Park in Alford - a really lovely natural camp site with lots of privacy and big old trees all around. We went out for lunch with them to the Alford Bistro on Sunday, which was really nice.
As for us, the weather is good, and so we are heading off today to Loch Arkaig to set up our wee 2-man tent and prepare for our walking. I will be off-grid for a few days as phone battery will be an issue. I will report in on our return. Wish us luck!
Hope you have fun! Hubby is up your way sailing and today there was no wind, boo! But I hope your brother has excellent camping weather and you have a super time together and walking.
What a great photo of your family. I've never seen a bell tent and one with a stove sounds very comfortable!
Have a safe and pleasant hike. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
Nice tent- sounds like a good home away from home! As for your climb, I was trying to look up "happy climbing!" in Gaelic but not sure "Dost sreap beinn" is actually how you say it- but that's what I got. Anyway- I hope it goes well for you and John on the next leg of the journey.
This looks a great set up, home away from home..
All the very best Issi & hubby..
Have a safe and pleasant hike. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
