Applecross's Walled Garden Café

We were just about to stop and make ourselves a very dull sandwich to eat in a lay-by on Friday, when we came across this inviting gate and driveway, leading to a lovely little café where we had coffee and a light lunch - as well as a wander around their walled garden. Much better than what I'd planned otherwise!

A cafe is a treat if you usually have picnics! I expect you eat lots of packed lunches. A very welcoming entrance & the name is a lovely plus the holy grail of gardens a walled one!

@happypat Yes, we do a lot of pack lunches ... and weren't particularly looking forward to day 4 of the same old lunch! Wrap with a hummus filling. We keep it simple when we're on the move. My beetroot, walnut and blue cheese salad was a much nicer option!
