The scene off the long porch of our house on the beach sure is pretty with all that ocean stretching out far and wide; but I find this busy view off the side porch interesting, too. Like stepping stones through a garden of lines, patterns, and textures, the rooftops lead the way to Hatteras Lighthouse as morning sun and shadows come out to play!
I like viewing this image best on the black background.
Fascinating, especially on black and white. When we visited our son at Canyonlands National Park in Utah two weeks ago, he introduced us to a new ranger who had just arrived. She had transferred from the Outer Banks--what a change for her!
@cejaanderson Thank you so much for commenting and for the fav, Jane. Yes, that sure would be a drastic change for that park ranger. What a fun experience for her to see such varied environments!
@dkc222 Thank you, Kim! I love lighthouses, too. I like that this one can be seen from the side porch especially at night when we can enjoy the rhythm of the bright light!
How cool to be able to see this landmark from your (rented) porch. The B&W presentation has really put the focus on the lighthouse although I think it would grab our attention no matter what.
I so appreciate your looking for and seeing the details in photos and the descriptive comments you share - i.e. my Old Tyme photography truck. :)
@philcameron59 Thank you so much, Phil! I really love seeing that lighthouse from the side porch, especially at night with its brilliant light going round and round!
