We love riding our bikes around the small town of Buxton in the Outer Banks even though the salt water takes its toll on them. I can’t help but see beautiful vacation memories in each splotch of rust and grain of sand.
(Now that the treacherous weather we experienced on our last day in Buxton is behind us and we are safely home, I'm focusing on the positive. I made this image when we were taking the bikes off the bike rack. The rust and gritty sand caught my eye and brought to mind the nice rides we'd taken.)
I like viewing this image best on the black background.
I see you are switching gears from surviving a nasty storm to bike hardware. Good for you! I like this, especially the rusty gear handle. Nice pop of natural color. :>)
@nydelignorsk Thank you so much! I am indeed switching gears as you mentioned. The scary stuff is in the past, and I'm focusing on good memories of the trip (while hoping to never be trapped between a flooded road and a raging sea again)! :-)
